The SABIAN 21" HHX Fierce Ride Cymbal brings together raw tonal complexity and semidry stick articulation in a design crafted specifically for renowned drummer Jojo Mayer. This fierce yet controllable ride cymbal combines dark, mystical tones with exceptional feel and output control properties that have been reverse–engineered from vintage cymbals and shaped into a contemporary concept with increased cut and consistency.

The raw sound spans a broad amplitude from low end to above midrange, while the lighter weight construction makes this ride highly responsive yet remarkably controllable. Mayer describes it as "definitely fierce," highlighting how the dark and mystical character maintains the desirable qualities found in classic vintage cymbals whilst offering modern reliability and projection.

HHX represents a breakthrough in projecting darkness through its innovative "Tone Projection" design created by the SABIAN Vault team. Unlike other cymbals that simply generate darkness, HHX stirs up simmering heat and musical dirt with an agitated bite that cuts through any mix. This series makes dark, simmering sounds more effective and ensures you’re both heard and felt in any musical setting.
