The SYSTEM-8 represents decades of synthesizer evolution, bringing together circuit-accurate recreations of legendary Roland oscillators, filters, and effects in one comprehensive instrument. Drawing from the deep history of synthesizer research and development, it features authentic third-party oscillator types alongside the famous JUPITER and JUNO filter designs that defined vintage synthesizer sounds.
Modern sound creation gets equal attention with multiple flavours of digital and analog-style oscillators, including waveshapes like SuperSaw and FM synthesis. Beyond classic filter models, the SYSTEM-8 incorporates an all-new VCF plus contemporary designs such as formant, harmonic, and side-band filters. This extensive range makes the instrument remarkably versatile, capable of producing everything from crystalline textures to aggressive growls with simple control adjustments.
Synthesizer power users will find the combination of Roland SYSTEM-8 software with its hardware counterpart creates a compelling workflow. Sound designers benefit from hands-on control via the velocity-sensitive keyboard and dedicated hardware controls, while live performers can transfer patches to the hardware unit for computer-free stage performances.
