The SRX WORLD virtual instrument combines the most sought-after world music titles from these classic expansion series, offering an extensive collection of authentic instrumentation from Asia, Latin America, Europe, and beyond. Long before virtual instruments became standard, Roland keyboards and sound modules like the JV-1080, XP-80, and XV-5080 served as the professional solution for accessing diverse, high-quality sounds in a single unit. The wave expansion board concept, launched in 1992 with the JV-80 synth, eventually grew to encompass more than 30 specialised titles across two formats. These boards became essential tools for top producers, composers, and performers worldwide, with their distinctive sounds appearing in countless hit records, film soundtracks, and media productions.

The SRX software synthesiser plug-ins faithfully recreate these beloved expansion board sounds using Digital Circuit Behaviour (DCB) technology, which captures every nuance through advanced behaviour modelling of the original hardware's digital components and circuitry.
