The JD-800 Model Expansion resurrects the legendary synthesiser that single-handedly rescued electronic music from the sterile preset era of the early '90s. Roland's original JD-800 broke new ground in 1991 with its control-heavy interface and distinctly digital sound palette, offering producers the hands-on synthesis experience that had been lost to menu-diving instruments. This Model Expansion faithfully recreates that vintage magic using advanced modelling techniques combined with the original JD-800 waveforms.
Built from the ground up to mirror the original architecture, this expansion captures every nuance of the JD-800's sonic behaviour with remarkable precision. You'll find 64 authentic presets ported directly from the original hardware, plus access to the extensive control array that made the JD-800 a studio favourite throughout the '90s and beyond. The retro workflow and powerful effects section provide endless sound-shaping possibilities for modern productions.
Model Expansions integrate seamlessly with ZENOLOGY, offering intuitive controls, efficient CPU performance, and instant sound loading without interrupting your creative process. The expansion also works with compatible Roland ZEN-Core hardware including the JUPITER-X and JUPITER-Xm, giving you consistent access to these classic sounds across studio and stage setups.
