Rode VideoMic Video shotgun Microphone with Rycote Mount

Professional videographers know that exceptional audio quality can make or break their productions, which is why the RØDE VideoMic R directional on-camera microphone has become an essential tool for serious content creators. This professional-grade 1/2-inch condenser shotgun microphone streamlines your equipment setup by eliminating the need for separate audio recording devices, making it perfect for both indoor studio work and outdoor location shoots.

The VideoMic R features an integrated Rycote Lyre-based shock mounting system that effectively isolates the microphone capsule and electronics from the all-metal shoe mount. This innovative design significantly reduces unwanted noise from equipment vibrations, rumbles, and sudden camera movements during dynamic shooting situations. Unlike traditional elastic suspension systems, the Lyre is crafted from a single piece of durable thermoplastic that maintains its acoustic properties and positioning integrity for years without sagging or deteriorating.

Mounting versatility comes standard with the included shoe mount, which incorporates a 3/8-inch thread for seamless attachment to boom poles or microphone stands. The microphone’s super-cardioid polar pattern provides highly directional audio capture, focusing precisely on subjects positioned in front of the camera while effectively rejecting ambient noise and unwanted surrounding sounds.
