RME's M–32 Pro II series sets a new benchmark for professional audio conversion, combining exceptional analog performance with cutting–edge network audio processing for studios, live sound systems, and industrial applications. These converters are available in four distinct models featuring either 32 analog inputs or outputs, with your choice of Dante® or AVB connectivity. The series boasts fully equipped MADI I/Os (coaxial & optical via optional SPF module), remarkably low THD values, and intelligent channel routing capabilities that represent the current state–of–the–art in professional audio performance.
Built around high–resolution converter components and fully balanced analog circuit design, the M–32 Pro II achieves signal–to–noise ratios of 120 dB(A) with minimal latency, firmly placing these units in the reference class category. The DA–Converter has been significantly improved with THD+N reaching –111 dB, while all models benefit from impulse response optimisation at sampling rates of 88.2 kHz and higher to reduce ringing artifacts. Control is comprehensive and accessible, with front panel operation for direct feature access, plus network and USB connectivity for remote management including gain groups, phantom power switching, and clock configuration.
The integration of Audinate's Dante IP Core on RME's custom FPGA platform provides native Dante connectivity, allowing direct connection to other audio devices via standard switches and supporting up to 64 channels of recording and playback using Dante Virtual Soundcard™ (licence sold separately). Individual channels can operate at different line levels including +19 dBu, +13 dBu, and the SMPTE® recommended +24 dBu at 0 dBFS, each maintaining full converter resolution. Tri–colour back–lit channel label fields with magnetic covers and transparent papers provide clear visual indication of signal levels and channel assignments, particularly valuable in fixed installations.
RME's commitment to long–term support is evident through continuous firmware updates since the original M–32 Pro release, expanding AVB capabilities from four streams (64 channels) to nine streams (128 channels plus CRF clock stream), adding MILAN™ compatibility, single channel routing, preset management, and static IP assignment. This ongoing development ensures these converters will continue meeting professional requirements for years to come, backed by RME's reputation for building hardware that lasts.
