RME's M–32 Pro II series sets a new benchmark for professional audio conversion, combining exceptional analog performance with cutting–edge network audio processing for studios, live sound systems, and industrial applications. These converters are available in four models featuring either 32 analog inputs or outputs, with your choice of Dante® or AVB connectivity. Built around state–of–the–art converter components and fully balanced analog circuitry, they achieve remarkable signal–to–noise ratios of 120 dB(A) with extremely low latencies that place them firmly in the reference class.
The latest generation boasts significant improvements including enhanced THD+N performance reaching –111 dB on the DA converter, while maintaining the outstanding analog performance of its predecessor. All models feature impulse response optimisation at sampling rates of 88.2 kHz and higher to minimise ringing artifacts during conversion. Control is comprehensive and flexible – manage all device states directly from the front panel, or access RME AVB devices remotely over network connections including Wi–Fi and USB for convenient gain grouping, phantom power switching, and clock configuration.
Network integration capabilities are particularly impressive, with AVB models supporting up to 128 audio channels at 48 kHz transmission over a single Ethernet cable. The AVB interface utilises open network standards IEEE 802.1 and 1722.1, allowing seamless integration into complex network structures with time–synchronous signal processing. RME's implementation includes two fully redundant network ports following MILAN™ recommendations, ensuring any AVB controller can discover and fully control these devices without requiring vendor–specific protocols.
Professional flexibility extends to analog compatibility, with individual channels supporting different line levels including +19 dBu, +13 dBu, and the SMPTE® recommended +24 dBu at 0 dBFS – all maintaining full converter resolution. Tri–colour back–lit channel label fields provide clear visual feedback based on signal levels, while magnetic covers allow custom labelling for comprehensive channel identification. RME's commitment to ongoing development means regular firmware updates continue to expand functionality, with recent additions including increased AVB stream capacity, MILAN™ compatibility enhancements, and advanced routing capabilities.
