RME's Digiface Dante bridges the gap between studio-grade audio networking and portable USB connectivity, offering professional musicians and engineers a lightweight interface that doesn't compromise on the legendary RME quality. This innovative device combines Dante network protocol with USB 3.0 technology, utilising RME's proven MADIface Series drivers for exceptional stability and ultra-low latency performance on both Windows and macOS platforms. The unit features TotalMix FX for comprehensive routing and mixing capabilities, allowing users to create as many independent submixes as there are available outputs.
Built with dual redundant network ports, the Digiface Dante functions beyond a standard audio interface by incorporating switch functionality that connects up to four network lines. This eliminates the need for additional networking hardware whilst providing robust redundancy options through 2-port connectivity for both primary and secondary networks. The interface handles up to 64 channels of send and receive via the largest available Dante module, and includes a high-quality headphone output that doubles as a line output for additional analogue stereo monitoring.
Operating independently without USB connection, the device automatically converts to a 64-channel Dante/MADI converter with preconfigurable analogue stereo output mixing. The unit supports AES67 compatibility for enhanced network flexibility and maintains stable operation through USB bus power with external power supply backup. RME's comprehensive software toolkit accompanies the interface, providing advanced metering, testing, and spectral analysis capabilities, with additional multi-track recording and playback monitoring features available on Windows systems.
