The Revv G2 overdrive pedal represents a breakthrough in amp‐in‐a‐box design, born from the company’s mission to recreate their acclaimed amplifier tones in pedal form. What started as a faithful recreation of Revv’s touch‐sensitive green channel quickly evolved into something far more versatile after feedback from Nashville session players and internal testing. Dan Trudeau, Revv’s President & Head Designer, explains how the G2 became “an entirely new animal” that pushes the company into fresh sonic territory now heard across new musical genres worldwide.
This pedal excels across three distinct applications: as a transparent boost that livens up clean tones or tightens high‐gain sounds, as Revv’s signature sweet and dynamic green channel with powerful EQ capabilities, and as a full yet chimey distortion voice. The G2 features comprehensive controls including 3‐band EQ, three drive modes, plus volume and gain knobs, making it remarkably easy to dial in quality tones quickly. Premier session guitarists globally have embraced this pedal, with notable demos from Pete Thorn, Rabea Massaad, and R.J. Ronquillo showcasing its capabilities.
Built with Revv’s attention to detail, the G2 sports a reflective green, laser‐etched powder‐coated chassis with top‐mounted jacks and blue LED status indication. The pedal runs on 9v center negative power (external supply only) and works seamlessly with analog, digital, and hybrid rig configurations, completing Revv’s vision for a modular amplification solution.
