This two-channel active DI represents an evolution of the acclaimed single-channel J48, incorporating advanced internal switching power supply technology that converts standard phantom power into superior headroom and reduced distortion characteristics.
The innovative switching supply design produces warm, even-order harmonic content typically found in high-end studio preamps costing significantly more. This same technology allows the audio ground to be lifted for eliminating troublesome hum and buzz from ground loops, all whilst maintaining phantom power connection – removing the need for external power supplies or unreliable battery operation.
Practical features include input/through connections, an 80Hz high-pass filter for controlling low-frequency content, and 180° polarity reverse on channel-2. This polarity control proves invaluable for phase-aligning stereo sources or reducing feedback issues in live performance situations.
