Thinner than anything else PRS has put into standard production, the Tekton pairs a slim body and neck with a flatter, faster feel. This hardtail electric guitar is the first of a new modern PRS family, with a figured mango top over a mahogany back, a shallow violin carve and a sculpted heel. An exaggerated upper-fret scoop opens up the top end, while the Modern “D” neck shape stays substantial enough to feel like a proper guitar.
The scarfed maple neck carries an ebony fingerboard with a 16-inch radius, 24 stainless steel jumbo frets and a 25.5-inch scale length. String spacing matches the Silver Sky and Fiore, slightly wider than traditional PRS, which helps arpeggios and pick attack stay clean. Purpose-built Stylus humbuckers use Alnico 5 magnets and a flatter response, holding their character through a tube amp while sitting comfortably alongside modelling rigs. Every pickup position and coil split is voiced to be usable.
Individual saddles on the PRS hardtail bridge allow precise intonation, and string-through construction adds resonance and sustain. Phase III locking tuners keep tuning steady without adding weight. Controls stay simple: one volume, a push/pull tone control for the coil split and a three-way blade switch. The Imperial Topaz finish is high-gloss nitro over a satin nitro neck, and a PRS Premium gig bag is included.
