A thinner body and a thinner neck than anything PRS has put into standard production define the Tekton, the hardtail debut in a new family of modern PRS electric guitars. A figured mango top sits over a mahogany back with a shallow violin carve, a sculpted heel and an exaggerated upper-fret scoop. The Modern “D” neck shape keeps the slim profile from feeling flimsy, and the Black Tourmaline finish here pairs with a natural neck.
The scarfed maple neck carries an ebony fingerboard with a 25.5-inch scale, 16-inch radius and 24 stainless steel frets, plus offset dot inlays and blue Luminlay side dots. Nut width is 1 11/16-inch, widening to 2¼-inch at the body, with string spacing matching the Silver Sky and Fiore – slightly wider than traditional PRS for cleaner arpeggios and pick attack. Stylus humbuckers use Alnico 5 magnets and a flatter response, holding their character through a tube amp while sitting comfortably with modelling rigs.
Hardware is the PRS hardtail bridge with individual saddles for precise intonation and string-through construction for added resonance and sustain. Phase III locking tuners keep tuning steady at low weight. Controls stay simple: volume, a push/pull tone control for coil splitting, and a three-way blade switch, with every position and split voiced to be usable. The body is finished in high-gloss nitro, the neck in satin nitro, and a PRS Premium gig bag is included.
