PRS SE Swamp Ash Special (Vintage Sunburst) inc Gig Bag

The PRS SE Swamp Ash Special stands out as a distinctive addition to the expanding SE Series lineup, combining traditional swamp ash construction with modern versatility. This guitar features a swamp ash body paired with a 22-fret maple neck and maple fretboard, creating a fresh aesthetic and tonal character that sets it apart from other models in the range.

At the heart of this instrument’s sound are the carefully selected pickups: 85/15 “S” humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions, with a PRS-Designed AS-01 Single Coil “S” pickup occupying the middle position. The AS-01 Single Coil incorporates both alnico and steel components – hence its name – which adds mass to the pickup and contributes to its powerful output. Combined with a push-pull tone control and 3-way pickup switch, this electronics package provides players with an extensive palette of tonal options.

The inclusion of PRS’s patented tremolo system adds another layer of versatility to the instrument’s capabilities. The SE Swamp Ash Special’s overall tonal character is defined by tight low-end response, bright yet mellow high frequencies, and a distinctive twangy quality that makes it suitable for “hot country,” blues, and jazz applications alike.
