PRS SE Silver Sky Defender Ltd Edition (Woolstone Green) w/Custom Gig Bag

Drawing from the contemporary colour palette of Defender's 900-strong archive, this limited–run collaboration pairs John Mayer's signature SE Silver Sky with Woolstone Green–a finish that bridges automotive heritage and modern guitar aesthetics. The partnership represents a collision of two distinct passions: Mayer's history as a Defender collector and his ongoing work with PRS on the Silver Sky platform. Each guitar in the Defender Color Collection carries a black pickguard, marking the first time this visual treatment has appeared on any Silver Sky model, alongside a unique neck plate and custom gig bag exclusive to this production window running from September 2026 through June 2027.

The Woolstone Green finish sits across an alder body mated to a bolt–on maple neck, maintaining the fundamental architecture that defines the Silver Sky's response and feel. Three proprietary 635JM single–coil pickups deliver the tonal character Mayer developed with PRS, controlled via a five–way blade switch and volume/tone configuration. The 25.5–inch scale length and 8.5–inch fingerboard radius support string bending and vibrato techniques without sacrificing intonation stability. A two–point tremolo system anchors the strings, balancing tuning stability with expressive pitch modulation. Nickel hardware complements the green body colour while the rosewood fingerboard carries 22 frets across its span.

Functionality drives the aesthetic choices throughout this release. The black pickguard creates visual contrast against Woolstone Green while protecting the body from pick wear during extended playing sessions. Shared design philosophy between the SE Silver Sky and Defender products emerges in their approach to purpose–driven construction: both prioritise reliable performance across repeated use while maintaining distinct visual character. The limited production window ensures exclusivity without compromising the player–focused build quality and stage–ready durability that characterise the broader SE Silver Sky range.
