PRS SE Silver Sky Defender Ltd Edition (Sedona Red) w/Custom Gig Bag

This limited–run collaboration with Defender brings bold contemporary automotive colour to John Mayer's signature model, with the Sedona Red finish drawn from Defender's 900–plus paint library. The SE Silver Sky Defender Limited Edition pairs this striking red with a black pickguard—a debut for the Silver Sky platform—and includes a unique neck plate along with a custom gig bag. Available only between September 15, 2026 and June 30, 2027, this run transforms the player's–guitar foundation of the SE Silver Sky into something visually distinct while maintaining every core attribute that defines the model's response and playability.

The hardware and electronics mirror the standard SE Silver Sky specification: three single–coil pickups, a 635 mm (25 inch) scale length bolt–on maple neck, and a bevelled body contour that prioritises comfort across extended sessions. The tremolo system maintains tuning stability under active use, while the pickup configuration delivers the clarity and dynamic range expected from this signature model. The black pickguard creates high contrast against the Sedona Red finish, marking a departure from the traditional aesthetic while the functional components remain unchanged from the core Silver Sky design.

Where tool meets inspiration, this Defender collaboration occupies familiar territory for both brands. The SE build quality supports consistent stage performance, with the bolt–on construction and finish work holding up under regular gigging conditions. Mayer's role as both Defender collector and guitarist informed the colour selection, translating automotive heritage into an instrument that references contemporary design language without abandoning the playability requirements of working musicians. The limited ordering window and Defender–specific detailing position this as a collectible variant rather than a permanent catalogue addition.
