Since 1985, this flagship model has defined what a PRS electric guitar sounds and feels like. The SE Custom 24 in Charcoal Blue Burst brings that legacy to players with a figured maple top over a mahogany body, paired with a 24-fret mahogany neck that runs a 25" scale length. Rosewood fretboard, Gen III tremolo system, and Phase III tuners with wing buttons ensure rock-solid tuning stability whether tracking in the studio or playing three-hour sets. This is the guitar that launched the brand at Winter NAMM 1985 and remains a top seller among touring professionals and weekend warriors alike.

DMO pickups–standing for Dynamic, Musical, Open–sit in the treble and bass positions, controlled by volume and tone knobs plus a 5-way blade switch. Paul Reed Smith and the New Products Engineering team developed these pickups through extensive study of vintage models and signal analysis technology, resulting in a wide-open tonal response with vocal midrange character. Clarity remains consistent from low-end rumble through high-frequency chime, giving each position on that 5-way switch distinct utility. The patented tremolo design works with those Phase III tuners to hold pitch through aggressive whammy work and string bends alike.

This SE series model delivers the core Custom 24 architecture at an accessible price point without sacrificing the playability and sonic range that made the original a studio and stage standard. The 24-fret configuration provides full two-octave access on every string, while the mahogany neck profile supports fast runs and chord work equally well. That figured maple cap adds visual depth to the Charcoal Blue Burst finish while contributing harmonic complexity to the amplified tone. A hard case is included for transport and storage protection.
