PRS SE CE24 Quilt Top Swamp Ash Back (Charcoal Top / White Doghar Back) inc Bag

The PRS SE CE 24 revives a lineage that stretches back to 1988, marrying bolt-on construction’s snap and response with PRS’s design sensibility. This SE Series iteration pairs a quilted swamp ash top with a mahogany back and rosewood fretboard, delivering the tonal clarity associated with bolt-on neck joinery alongside traditional PRS appointments. The charcoal top and white dog-hair back finish makes a visual statement without sacrificing the playability musicians expect from the Custom 24 platform.

Onboard hardware includes PRS’s 85/15 “S” pickups, engineered for extended high and low-end reach with balanced midrange clarity. A push/pull tone control incorporates coil taps, expanding the instrument’s tonal palette from single-coil sparkle to humbucker thickness. Bolt-on maple neck construction enhances sustain and responsiveness compared to set-neck designs, while the rosewood fretboard provides both durability and warmth to the overall sonic character. This configuration suits players tracking clean and overdriven textures with equal facility.

The CE’s first appearance in the SE lineup during 2024 positions this model as a bridge between PRS’s heritage designs and modern production methods, making it accessible to players who prioritise vintage bolt-on architecture without the attendant cost of Private Stock builds. The combination of solid tonewoods, proven pickup technology, and thoughtful appointments makes this a credible choice for bedroom recording, gigging, and session work where versatility and consistent output matter.
