Mark Tremonti's collaboration with PRS emerged from a desire to push beyond the McCarty platform that first won him over during Creed's My Own Prison tour. The guitarist of Alter Bridge and Creed required a signature model that could handle aggressive rhythm work – particularly the heavy palm muting central to his technique – whilst delivering the clarity needed for lead passages drawing from thrash metal, shred, and classic blues vocabulary. PRS answered with a guitar featuring custom-wound pickups and the proprietary Tremonti neck carve, a profile shaped specifically to accommodate his high-speed fretwork and wide intervallic stretches.
The 10 Top designation refers to the premium figured maple cap that sits atop the mahogany body, finished here in Charcoal Contour Burst. An adjustable stoptail bridge provides direct string-to-body coupling for maximum sustain and harmonic transfer, with individual intonation adjustment at each saddle. The Tremonti neck carve offers a slightly fuller shoulder than a Wide Thin profile, giving substantial support for barre chords and high-register bends without sacrificing speed. PRS-designed Tremonti pickups deliver high output and tight low-end response, voiced to prevent muddiness under heavy gain whilst retaining note separation during complex chord voicings and rapid single-note runs.
