Born from over two decades of meticulous collaboration between Paul Reed Smith and renowned guitarist David Grissom, the DGT (David Grissom Trem) represents a masterclass in guitar craftsmanship and tonal refinement.
Built upon the proven McCarty platform, the DGT features distinctive design elements including a unique neck profile, taller frets, and a thoughtfully revised control layout. The guitar’s standout feature lies in its specially developed pickups, which emerged from an intensive year-long process where Grissom and Paul meticulously tested over forty different pickup sets to achieve the perfect vintage voice.
The DGT humbuckers work in harmony with individual volume controls for each pickup and a push/pull master tone control that activates the coil taps. This configuration provides exceptional versatility and articulation, allowing players to access a wide range of tonal possibilities from classic humbucker warmth to crisp single-coil clarity.
