Born from over two decades of meticulous collaboration between Paul Smith and David Grissom, the DGT (David Grissom Trem) represents the pinnacle of electric guitar craftsmanship. This exceptional instrument builds upon the renowned McCarty foundation, incorporating a distinctive DGT neck profile, enhanced fret height, and a completely reimagined control configuration that sets it apart from conventional designs.
The heart of the DGT lies in its specially developed humbuckers, which emerged from an exhaustive year–long process where Grissom and Paul meticulously tested over forty different pickup sets. This dedication to sonic perfection resulted in pickups that capture authentic vintage tones while offering remarkable versatility through individual volume controls and a push/pull master tone control for coil–tap functionality.
“The DGT is a product a lot of miles down the road: a lot of gigs, a lot of records. It’s like picking up a vintage guitar. It sounds like a vintage guitar, and out of the box it’s ready to go. There’s a whole lot of thought gone into this. The DGT is pretty perfect to me.” – David Grissom
