Protection Racket 18x14" Floor Tom Case RIMS

Protection Racket's 18×14" Floor Tom Case RIMS is purpose–built for drummers running suspension mounting systems rather than traditional legs. The RIMS variant accommodates floor toms fitted with any style of riser hardware, offering internal dimensions of 22" × 15" to clear mounting brackets and fittings. This case sits within Protection Racket's established range of rigid transport solutions, designed around the reality that modern kit configurations demand flexible case geometry beyond standard shell sizes.

The case's internal dimensions exceed the drum's shell footprint deliberately–the 22" width and 15" depth provide clearance for suspension hardware that would otherwise foul a standard case. Drummers remove all three legs before packing, which adds a step but ensures the drum seats securely within the rigid frame. Protection Racket manufactures these cases to accommodate working musicians and touring rigs where gear protection during load–in, transport, and storage justifies the extra internal space. The RIMS designation appears across Protection Racket's catalogue (model codes ending in R), making it straightforward to identify the correct case for suspension–mounted floor toms.
