Protection Racket 13x5" Piccolo Snare Case & Straps

Protection Racket's 13" × 5" piccolo snare case (model 3007-00) is purpose–built transport for high–tension shallow drums that demand precision protection. Piccolo snares occupy a specialised category in the percussion market–their shallow shells and tight bearing edges require cases engineered with internal dimensions that genuinely accommodate hardware and tuning lugs without compromise. Protection Racket's design philosophy centres on rigid construction and fit specificity, making this case the go–to solution for touring musicians, session players, and collectors of vintage or custom piccolo snares.

The case features internal dimensions of 16" × 6", providing substantial clearance beyond the drum's 13" × 5" shell to safely house tension rods, strainer mechanisms, and snare wires. The inclusion of rucksack straps on this model (catalogue 3007-00R) converts the case into a hands–free carry system, essential for drummers navigating airport terminals or multi–venue touring schedules. Construction prioritises impact resistance and weatherproofing, protecting against temperature fluctuations and moisture that compromise drum tuning stability and wood integrity during transport.

Piccolo snares represent one of the most exacting transport challenges in drumming–their shallow depth and high–tension tuning make them vulnerable to compression damage and edge separation during handling. This case's design accommodates both vintage Ludwig and Gretsch piccolos alongside contemporary Evans and Yamaha models, offering the internal geometry required for drums measuring between 10" and 15" diameter across Protection Racket's full piccolo range.
