The PreSonus SW5E AVB switch brings professional-grade networking to live sound with its five secure, locking XLR Ethernet ports housed in a rugged all-metal chassis. Built specifically for the demands of live performance, this robust switch features network Link/Activity indicators to monitor data flow and can be rack-mounted for touring applications. The internal power supply with standard IEC connector eliminates the risk of loose wall-wart adapters that could compromise your show.

AVB networking goes far beyond simple digital snake connections, allowing you to route audio across long distances using standard CAT5e or CAT6 Ethernet cable with extremely low latency. The protocol’s high-precision clock significantly reduces harmonic distortion and phasing whilst ensuring sufficient bandwidth for pristine audio transmission. These benefits are built into AVB’s architecture, requiring no special configuration of your devices or switch.

Four of the SW5E’s five ports provide Power over Ethernet (PoE), a rare feature amongst current AVB switches that allows compatible devices to receive both data and power through a single cable. This capability lets you position equipment anywhere an Ethernet cable can reach, whilst the fifth non-PoE port serves perfectly for linking additional switches to expand your network. The SW5E integrates seamlessly with StudioLive digital mixers, enabling you to network Series III consoles, connect AI-series consoles with RML-series rack mixers, or cascade multiple RML units for larger systems, plus it’s compatible with any AVB-specification equipment.
