PreSonus's StudioLive® SE 24R is a 40-channel digital rack mixer engineered for touring sound engineers, studio tracking sessions, and high-channel-count live mixing. Housed in just two rack spaces, it delivers serious mixing capability through 24 XMAX-R recallable preamps, 16 FlexMixes, and 4 dedicated subgroups. Milan-certified AVB networking allows seamless integration with other StudioLive Series III gear, while integrated 64×64 USB audio I/O and onboard stereo SD recording eliminate external interface dependencies.
The preamps themselves span 0–60 dB of gain control with 65 dB common-mode rejection, 94 dB signal-to-noise ratio, and sub-0.005% THD across the 20–20 kHz spectrum. Twenty-four DCA groups enable complex mix automation without tying up physical faders. Per-channel source switching lets each input pull from analogue, USB, SD, or AVB simultaneously, critical for hybrid setups combining live sources and playback. The headphone output delivers 100 mW per channel at 60 Ω load, with 96 dB SNR and 0.01% THD. Universal Control and QMix-UC applications provide wireless remote mixing from anywhere in the venue or control room.
The SE 24R operates as a standalone mixer, monitor console, or networked stagebox. Capture software with Virtual Soundcheck streamlines multitrack recording and playback workflows. SD card support extends to 32 GB SDHC cards recording stereo WAV at 44.1 or 48 kHz, whilst balanced 1/4" TRS line outputs deliver up to +18 dBu. Power consumption is minimal at 35 W continuous, and the 3.5-inch rack height leaves breathing room in tight touring cases.
