PreSonus StudioLive Series III SE 16R Compact 18-Channel Digital Rack Mixer

PreSonus's StudioLive SE 16R is a compact 1U rack mixer engineered to deliver mixing control well beyond its modest footprint. Built around 16 XMAX-R recallable microphone preamps, the unit combines studio–grade signal conditioning with Milan–certified AVB networking for seamless integration into larger StudioLive systems. The architecture supports standalone mixing, monitor rigs, recording, and live broadcast duties without compromise.

The signal path centres on 32–bit floating–point processing with six FlexMixes configurable as auxiliaries, subgroups, or matrices, plus two dedicated effects mixes and six DCAs for routing flexibility. Each microphone input accepts 0–60 dB of gain across a 1 kΩ impedance, yielding a 94 dB signal–to–noise ratio and <0.005% total harmonic distortion at +4 dBu. Analogue line inputs peak at +12 dBu; balanced 1/4" TRS outputs reach +18 dBu. Per–channel source switching routes audio from analogue, USB 2.0 (18×18 bidirectional), SD card (up to 32 GB SDHC), or AVB simultaneously, whilst onboard Capture software enables Virtual Soundcheck playback.

Wireless remote mixing via Universal Control and QMix–UC personal monitoring gives operators freedom to move. The unit operates standalone, as a stagebox, or as a recording interface with stereo SD recording in WAV format at 44.1 or 48 kHz. Weighing 3.9 kg and measuring 19" wide by 12" deep, it fits standard 1U racks whilst drawing only 35 W. A perpetual Fender Studio® Pro licence rounds out the software package.
