The Peavey 6505 II 120 Watt Tube Head takes the high–gain pedigree of the original 6505 and expands it with independent EQ, Resonance, and Presence controls for each of its two channels. This all–tube head delivers 120 watts RMS through six 12AX7 preamp tubes and four 6L6GC power tubes, pushing serious volume for stage and studio work. The dual–channel architecture runs everything from clean rhythm tones to stadium–grade overdrive, with channel–specific Pre–Gain and Post–Gain knobs that open up near–infinite tonal possibilities. An upgraded three–button footswitch with detachable 7.6–metre cable provides hands–free control over channel selection, effects loop, and Crunch activation.
Each channel features dedicated Resonance and Presence controls alongside independent three–band EQ, giving precise command over low–end thump and high–frequency sparkle. The Rhythm channel includes a footswitchable Crunch function for instant gain boost without leaving the guitar, while a Bright switch shapes top–end clarity. Impedance switching accommodates 16, 8, or 4 ohm speaker cabinets, making it compatible with most configurations. Chicken–head knobs provide tactile control across all gain stages. The effects loop integrates outboard processors between preamp and power sections. At 21.8 kilograms, the head sits in a road–ready chassis measuring 81 × 39 × 33 centimetres.
