Four distinct kick drum sounds from a single beater head ‐ that's the innovative design behind Pearl's B‐250QB 'Quad' Surface Bass Drum Beater. This clever piece of hardware features two plastic faces and two felt faces arranged on a 4‐sided head, allowing drummers to access completely different tonal characteristics simply by rotating the beater 90 degrees.

The beater offers flat felt, rounded felt, flat plastic, and rounded plastic surfaces, each engineered to produce unique sonic qualities. Rounded surfaces create a sharper attack due to their reduced contact area with the drum head, whilst the flat surfaces generate increased volume and power through greater surface contact.

Material choice significantly impacts your sound ‐ felt surfaces provide warmer, more organic tones perfect for jazz, blues, and classic rock applications. The plastic faces deliver exceptional articulation and punch, ideal for genres requiring precise definition and cutting power in dense mixes.
