Born from Pearl's Championship Series bloodline, the CMSX 14x12" Marching Snare Drum brings competition–grade performance to marching bands with its legendary free–floating shell technology. This high–tension snare features a 6–ply Poplar/Kapur shell that's rich in upper harmonics for enhanced presence, supported by an aluminium edge ring that relieves head tension while maintaining the shell's structural integrity. The lightweight construction combines great strength and durability, making it suitable for all age groups without compromising on professional sound quality.
The drum's high tension FFX Aluminium Alloy edge ring allows super–high pitched Kevlar heads to be installed, while the lever action strainer operates smoothly with micro–fine adjustment capabilities for sensitive snare response. Equipped with 12 strand synthetic gut snares that provide both sensitivity and power, plus .3mm steel hoops for reduced weight, this snare delivers the reliability and fine craftsmanship expected from Pearl's Superior Shell Technology.
Pearl's proprietary manufacturing process begins with select woods milled to precise thickness with overlapping scarf joint seams for a perfect air–tight fit. The wood plies are saturated with Pearl's "AcoustiGlue" that permeates every pore and dries to match the wood's consistency for optimum resonance. Finally, the plies are formed in high–temperature moulds with 1000 PSI of hydraulic pressure, creating shells with superior tone, optimal resonance and extreme strength that support today's long–lasting batter heads.
