PRS Guitars marks four decades of craftsmanship with the release of their 40th Anniversary Custom 24 Limited Edition, an exclusive run of just 400 instruments worldwide that bridges the company’s storied past with cutting–edge innovation. This commemorative guitar showcases the classic mahogany back and neck construction paired with an artist–grade maple top, while featuring distinctive retro appointments including a violin top carve, “Old School” birds with outlines, and the iconic “Pre–Factory” headstock eagle that pays tribute to early PRS designs.
At the heart of this limited edition lies the all–new PRS DMO (Dynamic, Musical, Open) Treble and Bass pickup system, specifically developed by Paul Reed Smith and the New Products Engineering team to provide an expansive, vocal character that represents the future direction of PRS tone. The guitar maintains its professional pedigree with proven hardware including the Gen III patented tremolo system, Phase III locking tuners with wing buttons, and PRS Signature 10–46 strings.
Premium appointments extend to the ziricote fretboard and headstock veneer, materials that complement the instrument’s sophisticated aesthetic while providing exceptional playability. Each guitar in this commemorative series includes a hand–signed 40th Anniversary certificate, marking the beginning of a year–long celebration of PRS Guitars’ remarkable journey from boutique workshop to industry leader.
