Paiste 602 Modern Essentials 18inch Crash Cymbal

Forged from the legendary CuSn20 "602 Bronze" alloy, the Paiste 602 Modern Essentials 18" Crash Cymbal represents a groundbreaking collaboration with renowned drummer Vinnie Colaiuta. This handcrafted Swiss cymbal combines the transparency and stick definition of the Formula 602 Classic Sounds series with the richness, warmth, and complexity found in the Signature Traditional range, creating a versatile instrument with enhanced character and pizzazz.

The medium–weight 18" crash offers exceptional versatility with its low to loud volume range and quick response characteristics. Its sound profile features a full, warm tone with brilliant shimmer and deep resonance, supported by a fairly wide range and complex mix. The cymbal provides a rich, strong crash sound that balances an open low end with shimmering highs, while maintaining long sustain and lively intensity with a soft, washy stick sound.

Since its introduction in 2013, this cymbal has proven itself across numerous live and studio applications. As Vinnie Colaiuta notes, these cymbals are "nice and transparent," with the warmth becoming more pronounced as the cymbal size increases, making this 18" model an ideal choice for drummers seeking professional–grade sound quality and responsive performance.
