The legendary Paiste 602 18" Medium stands as one of history's most revered cymbal lines, earning its reputation through decades of professional use across the globe. This iconic cymbal belongs to the Formula 602 Classic Sounds series, which was faithfully reintroduced in 2011 to recreate the beloved sound and appearance that made these cymbals famous. Forged from the legendary "602 Bronze" (CuSn20) alloy, each cymbal is handcrafted from start to finish by highly skilled Swiss craftsmen.
The 18" Medium offers a silvery, breathy, and transparent sound character with a fairly wide range and slightly complex, dense mix. Its soft shimmering quality provides a velvety feel that requires precise playing technique to unlock its full potential. With medium low to medium loud volume capabilities, this cymbal produces a washy stick sound with fairly lively intensity and medium sustain, while the bell character remains beautifully integrated into the overall tone.
This light crash cymbal carries a definite retro character that makes it perfectly suited for many musical styles within that genre. The fine, pure, soft, and delicate musical tone produces a true, pure sound with unique clarity and consistency that has made the 602 line a go–to choice for discerning drummers worldwide.
