The legendary Paiste 602 series returns with this exquisite 16" Medium crash, faithfully recreating one of history's most revered cymbal lines. Originally celebrated for its fine, pure, and delicate musical tone that demands precise playing technique, this reintroduced model maintains the authentic sound and appearance that made the 602 series famous. Swiss craftsmen forge each cymbal by hand from start to finish using the legendary "602 Bronze" (CuSn20) alloy, ensuring the true, pure sound quality and unique clarity that has defined this series for decades.
This 16" medium weight crash offers a silvery, breathy, and transparent character with a fairly wide range and slightly complex, dense mix. The cymbal provides a soft shimmering quality with a velvety feel, producing washy stick sounds and fairly lively intensity. With medium sustain and an integrated bell character, it operates in the medium low to medium loud volume range, making it perfectly suited for controlled playing situations.
The sound profile delivers a light crash with definite retro character, ideal for various musical styles within that genre. Its Formula 602 Classic Sounds construction ensures consistency and clarity that professional drummers have trusted for generations, maintaining the pure musical tone that requires and rewards precise technique.
