The legendary Paiste 602 16" Heavy stands as one of history's most revered cymbal lines, earning its reputation through decades of professional use across the globe. This iconic cymbal belongs to the Formula 602 Classic Sounds series, which was faithfully reintroduced in 2011 to recreate the original sound and appearance that made these cymbals famous. Forged from the legendary "602 Bronze" (CuSn20) alloy, each cymbal is handcrafted from start to finish by highly skilled Swiss craftsmen.
The 16" Heavy model produces a silvery, breathy, and transparent sound character with a fairly wide range and slightly complex, dense mix. Its soft shimmering quality creates a velvety feel that requires precise playing technique to unlock its full potential. With medium low to medium loud volume capabilities, this cymbal offers a washy stick sound and fairly lively intensity, balanced by medium sustain and an integrated bell character.
This light crash cymbal carries a definite retro character that makes it perfectly suited for various musical styles within that genre. The pure, soft, delicate musical tone that the 602 series is renowned for shines through in this model, producing the true, pure sound of unique clarity and consistency that has made Paiste cymbals a professional standard for generations.
