Co-developed with one of the most legendary DJs of all time, the Ortofon Q.Bert cartridge stands in a class of its own with unsurpassed handling, high output voltage, and exceptional low wear characteristics. This cartridge has been specifically tailored for turntablists and mix DJs who demand superior performance from their equipment. The Q.Bert’s strong output combines with unrivalled tracking ability and distinctive sonic characteristics to create the ultimate scratching tool.
The cartridge features a more subdued high end that helps minimise surface noise from worn vinyl, while an accentuated mid-range brings scratching to the front of the sound stage. With its enormous output voltage of 11 mV at 1000 Hz, the Q.Bert excels at handling music with deep bass frequencies, making it perfect for scratch applications across all genres. The supreme ability to trace record grooves ensures consistent performance even during the most demanding scratch sessions.
Built with a spherical stylus tip radius of 18 µm and tracking force range of 2.0-4.0g (recommended 3.0g), this cartridge maintains excellent tracking ability at 315Hz while keeping distortion below 1%. The frequency response spans 20-18,000 Hz at -3dB, with channel separation of 22dB at 1kHz. Weighing 18.5g with a black body and white stylus, the Q.Bert requires a recommended load resistance of 47 kOhm and load capacitance of 200-600 pF. Please note this product does not include a headshell.
