The Orange Plug–In Expansion Module extends the capability of the Orange Valve Tester MKII by introducing test protocols for specialist valves outside the instrument's factory coverage. Orange's engineering approach prioritises practical measurement of Hi–Fi and audio rectifier tubes–types essential to enthusiasts maintaining vintage amplifiers and high–fidelity gear. This modular architecture lets users customise their testing toolkit without replacing the core unit.
Expansion Modules address specific valve families: the GZ34 rectifier, prized in vintage guitar and Hi–Fi circuits, plus audiophile–grade dual triodes like the 6SN7 and 300B. The EZ80 and EF86 represent additional specialist coverage for rare amp topologies and pre–amp stages. Each module integrates seamlessly into the MKII's existing measurement framework, allowing technicians and amp builders to verify tube condition and bias characteristics across expanded valve libraries without cross–reference charts or external gear.
