The legendary Oberheim sound that defined countless classic tracks is now available in a compact desktop format with the OB-X8 desktop module. This powerhouse synthesiser packs all the sonic capabilities of its keyboard counterpart into a studio-friendly footprint, featuring the same all-analogue signal path with discrete VCOs, VCAs, and filters that made tracks like Prince's 1999, Van Halen's Jump, and Rush's Tom Sawyer so unforgettable. The knob-per-function interface provides immediate access to virtually all parameters, making sound design both intuitive and precise.

What sets the OB-X8 apart is its unique ability to combine three different voice architectures from the OB-X, OB-Xa, and OB-8 into a single instrument. Each model's individual filter types and characteristics have been faithfully reproduced, whilst also allowing you to mix elements from different models to create sounds never possible with the originals. The classic factory sounds from countless recordings are all present, complemented by jaw-dropping new presets created by Oberheim's network of world-class sound designers.

The OB-X8 includes all the classic “Page 2” functions that unlocked the hidden power of the original OB-8, plus new parameters for 2022. This gives you direct access to over 40 nuanced controls including additional SEM filter modes, per-voice panning, LFO keyboard tracking, and independent pulse width control. The recent OS v2.0 update adds even more advanced features such as instant binaural mode, selectable oscillator waveshapes, a new 4-pole low pass filter, and doubled memory locations offering 512 additional stored sounds, plus poly chain capabilities for up to 32 voices when connecting multiple instruments.
