The NUX Optima Air Dual‐Switch Acoustic Guitar Simulator and IR Loader brings professional acoustic guitar tones to both acoustic and electric players through advanced impulse response technology. This comprehensive unit combines an IR loader with a full preamp featuring 3‐band EQ, gain controls, and a one‐knob reverb effect, all housed in a compact dual‐switch design that fits seamlessly into any pedalboard setup.
At its core, the Optima Air features 15 built‐in impulse response files, each optimised for specific guitar and pickup combinations to ensure the best possible acoustic simulation for your instrument. The unit’s unique profile capture function allows you to create custom IR files by recording your favourite acoustic guitar’s sound, giving you unlimited tonal possibilities. With 9 preset slots available, you can store and recall your preferred settings instantly via the dual footswitches.
The preamp section utilises NUX’s white box algorithm based on the legendary Neve 1073, providing that sought‐after analogue character where each control interacts naturally with the others. Connectivity options are extensive, including XLR DI output for direct mixer connection, headphones output for silent practice, auxiliary input for play‐along tracks, and a send/return effects loop for integrating additional pedals.
Professional features include 24‐bit, 48‐kHz sampling quality and USB audio streaming capability, allowing the Optima Air to function as a recording interface. The included editor software enables loading of third‐party IRs, preset name editing, and USB audio routing adjustments, with built‐in level controls for fine‐tuning imported impulse responses to match your requirements.
