NUX's MG-50Li is a dual–DSP multi–effects processor engineered for guitarists and bassists demanding professional–grade amp modelling without compromise. Built around the TS/AC-4K white–box physical modelling algorithm—now twice as intricate as previous iterations—it pairs 28 modelled amps with 30 DeepImage profiles and L/R Cyber IR cabinet emulation. The dark blue aluminium alloy chassis houses six footswitches, a 5–inch colour LCD, and a built–in rechargeable battery rated for 6 hours of uninterrupted use, making it a credible alternative to amp stacks for both studio and touring contexts.
The signal path runs through three dedicated NXP RT processors handling effects, amp simulation, and split routing independently, while 32–bit floating–point processing at 48 kHz sampling delivers a 110 dB dynamic range. Up to 14 simultaneous effect blocks include compressor, delay, reverb, modulation, and phase shifter stages, with routing flexibility across serial, parallel, and split configurations. Connectivity spans USB–C audio interface (24–bit/48 kHz), stereo XLR balanced outputs, dual send/return loops for external pedals, Bluetooth module for app control, and 3.5 mm headphone out. The device stores 96 factory presets plus 201 user slots, 42 factory Cyber IRs, and 60 user IR slots, with onboard profiling via the NUX Image app to capture favourite amps or pedals.
Dual–chain architecture allows two simultaneous effect chains with up to 2 amps and 4 cabinets per chain, enabling parallel processing workflows suited to complex arrangements or multi–tracked recording. The included NBT–1 Bluetooth module pairs with iOS, Android, Windows, and Mac editors for remote patch sculpting; USB connection also supports MIDI in/out for controller integration and firmware updates. At 2.8 kg and 393 × 210 × 72 mm, it slots into compact rigs without sacrificing I/O depth—a practical fit for session engineers, live touring bands, and home recordists relying on a single–box solution.
