The Nord Wave 2 stands as a sonic powerhouse that puts four complete synthesizers at your fingertips, offering unprecedented creative possibilities for the modern musician. This performance synthesizer combines Virtual Analog synthesis, Samples, FM and Wavetable technologies with 48-voice polyphony and an intuitive layer-focused interface. The dedicated OLED displays for Program and Oscillator sections provide clear visual feedback when crafting your sounds, while the hands-on controls make real-time tweaking effortless during live performance.
Each of the four layers features its own Oscillator section with four distinct modes: Analog, Wavetable, FM and Samples, all easily navigated through the new direct category mode. The Analog oscillator provides an extensive range of waveforms from classic analog to harmonically rich new additions, while the Sample category includes high-quality content from the Nord Sample Library 3.0 plus support for custom samples via the Nord Sample Editor 3. The Wavetable oscillator contains advanced wavetables covering diverse tonal characteristics, and the FM section offers 2, 3 and 4 operator configurations with both harmonic and inharmonic variations.
The Filter section boasts six filter types including classic 12 and 24 dB Low Pass options, High Pass, High Pass/Low Pass and Band Pass filters, plus a stunning emulation of the transistor ladder filter from the legendary Mini synthesizer. Each layer includes a dedicated LFO with morphable parameters and Master Clock synchronisation, alongside an AD/AR Modulation Envelope with velocity settings and Invert mode. The Amp Section features a full ADSR envelope with the new Transient Attack mode for adding punch to your sounds, while the Monitor mode displays Amp Envelope and Filter settings in the Program display for better control overview.
Connectivity options include MIDI over USB for sequencer integration and compatibility with the included Sound Manager software. The improved Control Pedal support now accommodates Fatar, Yamaha FC7, Roland EV-7, Roland EV-5, Korg EXP2 and Korg XVP10 pedals, making the Wave 2 a versatile addition to any performance setup.
