The KH 420 stands as Neumann's precision–engineered midfield monitor, purpose–built for professional studios where accuracy cannot be compromised. This three–way tri–amplified system features thermally protected Class AB amplifiers delivering 330W plus two times 140W, creating sound pressures up to 122.4dB whilst maintaining exceptional clarity down to 26Hz. The monitor's Mathematically Modelled Dispersion™ (MMD™) waveguide provides horizontally precise sound distribution for flexible listening positions, while its narrower vertical dispersion minimises unwanted reflections from desks and mixing consoles.
Designed for working distances of 1.5 to 3 metres, the KH 420 excels in project, music, broadcast and post–production environments for recording, mixing and mastering applications. Its deliberately narrower dispersion pattern guarantees reference–quality sound at longer distances, making it ideal for midfield monitoring and main monitor duties. The system integrates seamlessly with other Neumann studio monitors in multi–channel setups, providing consistent sonic character across your entire monitoring chain.
The optional Digital Input Module DIM 1 adds comprehensive digital connectivity through XLR and BNC inputs/outputs supporting up to 192kHz/24–bit resolution. This module includes a delay function with 0–400ms range and 0.1ms resolution, perfect for audio–visual synchronisation and propagation delay equalisation. The delay affects both digital and analogue inputs, and the KH 420 can be retrofitted with the DIM 1 module when digital connectivity becomes essential to your workflow.
