The MXR Tremolo brings together decades of tremolo evolution in one comprehensive pedal, offering six distinct waveforms that span from vintage amp-style modulation to cutting-edge innovations. This pedal recreates the organic pulse of the beloved M159 MXR Stereo Tremolo with its MXR style, while the Bias setting captures the lush, power-soaked compression found in early 1960s tube amplifiers. The innovative Revo style flips the optical tremolo waveform backwards for more dramatic peaks and valleys, and the Opto style delivers the smooth pulsating tremolo generated by photo cells in classic amplifiers.
The SQR setting produces choppy, super pronounced tremolo inspired by an iconic outboard effect, while the Harm style recreates the trippy, phase-like tremolo from certain rare vintage amplifiers. Getting incredible sounds is straightforward with Speed, Gain, and Depth controls setting the rate, volume, and intensity of your selected tremolo effect. Cycling through the six styles is as simple as pushing the Gain knob.
Advanced players will appreciate the extensive feature set including stereo operation, tap tempo functionality, and expression pedal compatibility. The envelope tremolo feature makes the effect’s response sensitive to your playing attack, adding another layer of musical expression. All these capabilities are housed in a single MXR enclosure, allowing you to access a wide variety of intriguing, well-crafted tremolo waveforms without overcrowding your pedalboard.
