MOTU Symphonic Instrument is a virtual orchestra plugin built on an 8GB library of orchestral sounds recorded at high fidelity. It runs as a standalone application or plugin (VST, AU, DXi, MAS, RTAS) across Mac and Windows, letting you load up to 16 instruments per instance to build ensembles from solo voices through to full orchestral arrangements. The single-window interface puts all controls in one place, so adjusting tone and character takes seconds rather than hunting through menus.

The plugin includes a convolution reverb with impulse responses captured from real concert halls, orchestral stages, and cathedrals, letting you place instruments in authentic acoustic spaces. Standalone mode runs 64 parts simultaneously with disk streaming and 16 independent outputs, which means it works directly with notation software like Finale that can't host third-party plugins. Both formats support the same instrument library, so switching between DAW sessions and notation work doesn't require re-recording or bouncing stems.

Manny's Music supplies the e-Licence version, which activates on a machine via MOTU's online authorisation system. No USB key needed, and activation is permanent once linked to your account. Setup and library loading complete within minutes on most systems.
