MachFive 3 from MOTU is a universal sampler that reads nearly every major hardware and software sample format, Kontakt, Giga, EXS24, HALion, Akai, Roland, Kurzweil and others, without conversion. This competitive upgrade brings the full version's feature set at reduced cost for owners of qualifying competing products. It runs standalone or as VST, AU, RTAS or AAX on macOS and Windows, with 45GB of included instruments, loops and effects.
Sound design sits across four domains: sampling, loops, synthesis and effects. The scripting engine models real playing techniques, the included Telematic electric-guitar instrument demonstrates this, while modular synthesis stacks up to 128 samples per key with two filters, eight LFOs and six envelopes. IRCAM technology handles time-stretching, pitch-shifting and granular synthesis. LoopLab slices REX, ACID and Apple Loops on the fly. Forty-seven built-in effects including convolution reverb handle final mixing, and an 8GB Xtreme FX library adds cinematic textures.
