The Morley Rex Brown “Old Blue” Signature Bass Wah is an electro-optical wah pedal designed in collaboration with Pantera's legendary bassist. Built around the circuitry of Morley's original blue–case bass wah from the 1970s, this signature model recreates the aggressive midrange sweep and throaty low-end that defined Rex Brown's tone on albums like Vulgar Display of Power. The pedal features true bypass switching and runs on standard 9V power or battery operation.
The electro-optical design eliminates mechanical pots for zero friction and whisper-quiet performance across the full treadle sweep. Cold-rolled steel housing provides durability for stage and studio use, while the quick-clip bottom plate allows fast battery changes without tools. The pedal's frequency sweep emphasises the crucial 200Hz to 2kHz range where bass guitar cuts through dense mixes. Dimensions measure 265mm long by 76mm wide by 64mm high, with input and output jacks located on the front panel alongside the 9V adapter input.
