Professional audio engineers know the frustration of mismatched signal levels when connecting consumer gear to pro equipment. The Morley® Line Level Shifter® solves this common problem by bridging the gap between low-level –10dBV outputs from devices like MP3 players and CD players, and high-level +4dBu inputs found on FOH PA mixers and multitrack digital recorders.
This clever unit employs the principles of inductance and impedance matching to boost or reduce signal voltage without introducing the noise typically associated with active electronics. The Line Level Shifter® automatically handles the conversion between balanced and unbalanced signals – a particularly useful feature since most –10dBV signals are unbalanced whilst most +4dBu signals require balanced connections.
Built into the unit is Morley’s Hum Eliminator™ technology, which effectively breaks ground loops that cause troublesome AC hum in your signal chain. This passive approach to level shifting and signal conditioning makes it an essential tool for any serious audio setup.
