Meinl Sonic Energy Steel Tongue Drum Mallets

Meinl Sonic Energy's STDB mallets are purpose–designed for steel tongue drums, delivering full–bodied, resonant tones with enhanced harmonic clarity. High–quality rubber heads strike the balance between articulation and warmth, while textured grips ensure control during meditation sessions, sound therapy work, and live performance. Measuring 28.58 cm in length, these mallets complement standard–sized steel tongue drums without overwhelming smaller instruments or falling short on larger models.

Each mallet features a durable handle construction paired with a rubber striking head that draws out the fundamental pitch and overtone series inherent in tuned steel tongues. The textured grip surface prevents slippage during extended playing, allowing for dynamic control across soft ambient passages and more assertive rhythmic work. Sold as a matched pair, the STDB mallets are compatible with Meinl Sonic Energy steel tongue drums and similar instruments from other makers. The 11.25–inch length provides optimal leverage and reach for most tongue drum layouts.
