Meinl Sonic Energy Kenari Seed Nutshell Chimes w/ Mahogany Wood Bracket

The Meinl Sonic Energy Kenari Seed Nutshell Chimes w/ Mahogany Wood Bracket transforms an Indonesian seed into a crisp, projecting percussion instrument that cuts through loud acoustic sessions. Each nutshell is individually mounted to a solid mahogany bracket, creating an instrument that plays like traditional bar chimes but delivers a completely different tonal character. This lightweight design weighs just 561g, making it easy to hold and position during extended playing.

Kenari seed nutshells produce a sharp, articulate attack when struck in succession, with enough volume to hold their own against drums and amplified instruments. The mahogany bracket provides structural rigidity and a stable mounting surface, ensuring each shell rings cleanly without damping adjacent notes. The instrument responds to the same playing techniques as standard wind chimes – a single sweeping motion across the shells produces cascading rhythmic patterns. This construction method preserves the natural acoustic properties of the dried nutshells while offering precise playability.
