Meinl Sonic Energy 7" Steel Tongue Drum G Minor (Navy Blue)

The Meinl Sonic Energy 7" Steel Tongue Drum arrives in deep navy blue, a compact percussion instrument tuned to G Minor. Unlike standard drums requiring constant adjustment, this tongue drum ships pre–tuned across eight notes, letting any player (trained or otherwise) produce consonant tones immediately. The coated stainless steel construction yields a warm, floating resonance similar to a gentle steel pan, making it equally at home in therapy rooms, meditation spaces, classroom settings, or as a striking visual piece.

Construction centres on 17.8 cm diameter coated stainless steel tuned to A4/a' 440 Hz with notes spanning G4, Bb4, C5, D5, F5, G5, Bb5, and C6. Two wooden mallets with soft rubber heads ship standard, allowing immediate exploration of the full tonal range without edge noise or harshness. The padded carrying bag protects the drum during transport between venues or studios, while the compact footprint means it occupies minimal space on shelves or stage setups.

Sound therapists, yoga instructors, and musicians seeking ambient textures gravitate toward this format because harmonic alignment occurs across the scale regardless of mallet position. The G Minor tuning naturally favours minor–key soundscapes, making it a natural fit for meditative backdrops, field recordings, or supplementary layers in singer–songwriter arrangements where acoustic warmth adds emotional weight.
