The Meinl Sonic Energy 22" Siam Oak Wave Drum recreates the calming rhythm of ocean waves through its dual–head design and internal bead system. One side features hand–selected goat skin, the other a synthetic head, giving players two distinct tonal characters to explore. The 55.88 cm diameter frame is constructed from lightweight Siam Oak, keeping the total weight at approximately 2.2 kg. Tilting the drum from side to side sets glass and metal beads in motion, producing the gentle wash of surf.

A sealable filling port on the frame allows precise control over bead quantity, directly affecting the intensity and texture of the sound produced. The walnut brown finish provides a natural aesthetic that complements the organic goat skin head. Each drum varies slightly in skin texture due to the natural materials used in construction. The synthetic head offers a vegan–friendly playing surface with consistent response, while the goat skin delivers warmth and traditional frame drum tonality.
