Meinl Byzance Vintage Benny Greb Signature Sand Cymbal Set 14" HH 18" TC 20" Ride

The Meinl Byzance Vintage Benny Greb Signature Sand Cymbal Set brings a refined, controlled cymbal sound built around feel, nuance and musical balance. Developed in collaboration with Benny Greb, this matched set is tailored for players who value articulation, dynamics and tonal depth over sheer volume.

Each cymbal features a distinctive sandblasted surface, creating a soft touch under the stick and a matte appearance that stands apart visually. Sonically, the response is low, dark and slightly dry, with a smooth wash that stays controlled and musical rather than overpowering. Stick definition remains clear across all playing intensities, supported by a short, focused sustain that allows precise phrasing in complex grooves.

The 14" hi‐hats deliver a tight, articulate response with a warm chick, the 18" thin crash opens quickly with a broad yet controlled spread, and the 20" ride offers excellent definition with a subtle, earthy wash underneath. Together, the set feels cohesive and balanced, making it well suited to jazz, funk, fusion, studio work and any context where clarity and control matter more than high‐volume projection.

Handcrafted in Turkey as part of the Byzance Vintage series, this signature cymbal pack reflects Meinl's commitment to character‐driven sound and expressive performance.
